View Full Version : Bill (Jan) Peacock
We have been informed of the following by Paddy Healy:
Bill Peacock was the buffer for most of the Far East trip of 74/75 and sadly he passed away in Spain a couple of years ago. I had a good time onboard and have nothing but fond memories of this period, happy days indeed.

A great man, who could teach anyone, and never let anyone down.
He had a massive knowledge of seamanship, that I doubt, that they could match in today's surface fleet, he was a kind man who inspired and knew how to laugh and more importantly, when.
Sadly missed, but not forgotten.
Sandy.

A true buffer to the core, who was hard working and honest and rewarded those around him for his efforts.

I always remember him as a quiet, decent man.
RIP Bill

I have good memories of being a member of his buffers party for a while, along with Ginge and Willy.
Learnt a lot about seamanship including RAS preparation.
