Chief Petty Officer Arthur Slater served onboard the Sloop HMS Lowestoft on the China Station 1935-1939 and survived the sinking of the Battlecruiser HMS Repulse [Force Z] off Malaya in Dec 1941 by Japanese aircraft.
He crossed the bar aged 44.

Arthur Slater Chief Petty Officer D/J 94870, Died on the 4th June 1947 age 44 years. Remembered with honour Ford Park Cemetery Plymouth Devon. Ships served on, HMS Lowestoft, Hood, Renown, Revenge and survived the sinking of the Repulse. A great man along with hundreds of others who survived the P.O.W camps.
