    Ensign Peter Ashley

It is with great sadness that I have to report that Peter Ashley (former WEO 1980-1982) 'crossed the bar' on Monday 6th November. His wish is not to have a funeral but to have a wake in the Bat & Ball (near Clanfield, Hants) at 1400 on Friday 1 December. He will be sadly missed.
Peter joined the Association some 10 years ago and attended a number of our reunions.

RIP Peter...................Click image for larger version.

Ensign Peter Ashley - A gentleman and a professional Naval Officer

I was very sorry to read of Peter's death in the Lowdown this month. He was a very steady charming man with a wicked sense of humour and a very reliable Weapons Engineer Officer. Our rather elderly ship presented its engineers with plenty of googlies and, leading his team from the front, he batted them all away for which I shall be for ever grateful. Our reunions will be all the sadder for his passing. R.I.P. Charles Buckle, CO 81 -82.
